There are reports that a small, weak tornado was possibly spawned in an isolated storm in Houston County Thursday afternoon around 3:30 p.m.
WGXA storm spotters Dave Stewart and Clifford Morey spotted damage near the Perry Airport and the Guardian Center. Both said they could smell broken pine branches. Stewart and Morey estimate the potential path is no more than five hundred yards long and about fifty feet wide.
The National Weather Service says it did have a funnel cloud reported in the area. We're told employees of the Guardian Center may have cell phone video of a weak rope tornado nearby.
Houston County officials tell us they plan on surveying the area Friday for more damage.
