Unusually cool air helped Macon set a record for low temperature Wednesday.
Macon hit a low of 59 degrees around 7 a.m. Wednesday, breaking a previous record low of 62 degrees for July 30. Macon's previous record low for the date was set in 1920.
This comes just one day after the low temperature Tuesday tied a record dating back to 1897.
WGXA's Chief Meteorologist Jeff Cox says this shot of cool air is not permanent and that lows in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees are likely as we get closer to the weekend.
