Recovering bodies off South Korea...Robotic sub keeps searching for Malaysian jet... Pope to say Easter Mass

MOKPO, South Korea (AP) — Officials say divers have recovered 13 bodies from inside the ferry that sank off South Korea. Three other bodies have been found floating outside. The confirmed death toll now stands at 49. Officials say more than 250 people are still missing. There are only 174 known survivors. The captain of the ferry and two members of its crew have been arrested.

PERTH, Australia (AP) — A robotic submarine looking for the missing Malaysia Airlines jet is expected to finish searching a patch of the Indian Ocean seabed within a week after so far coming up empty. Officials say the search area may be expanded after that. Meanwhile, another say of searching has begun on the surface. Up to 11 aircraft and 12 ships continue to look for debris.

VATICAN CITY (AP) —In a few hours, Pope Francis will celebrate an Easter Sunday Mass in St. Peter's Square and deliver his twice-yearly "Urbi et Orbi" (to the city and the world) blessing and message. Francis presided over an Easter Vigil in St. Peter's Basilica on Saturday night. He baptized 10 people and urged them to bring their faith "to the ends of the Earth."

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police say a man who allegedly made threatening statements, forcing the lockdown of the Los Angeles Times building, is being held for a mental health evaluation. The man, who works at a call center that rents space in the building, was detained last night. The building is across the street from police headquarters. No weapon was found in the building after a search.

SCARBOROUGH, Maine (AP) — An engineer whose contributions to the U.S. space program were vital to NASA's successful moon landing in 1969 has died. His family says John C. Houbolt died Tuesday at a Maine nursing home at the age of 95. NASA says Houbolt was the catalyst in securing U.S. commitment to the science and engineering theory that eventually carried the Apollo crew to the moon and back safely.
