The best way to avoid stray animals that end up getting destroyed in shelters is to make sure they're never born in the first place.
To make that happen, a group called SAFE or "Saving Animals From Euthenasia" is offering low-cost spaying and neutering services in teh area.
It allows you to get your animals fixed for $40-$80 instead of the usual $200-$300, and it even includes a Rabies shot.
SAFE President Susan Helton says afer 30+ years in the rescue business, she's eager to see results of prevention so they can cut down on the high kill rates in local shelters overwhelmed by animal over-population.
The Clinic travels to different locations and you need an appointment. To set one up call (478) 550-5050.
