COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier doesn't like worrying about his team's defense. The 13th-ranked Gamecocks gave him no choice after what he saw at Georgia. Spurrier says his team had a "bad coaching day" in a 41-30 loss to the Bulldogs and now is hoping to turn that around when South Carolina (1-1, 0-1 Southeastern Conference) takes on Vanderbilt (1-1, 0-1) on Saturday. He took the blame for the defeat, but there seemed to be more than enough to go around on defense. The unit gave up 536 yards to Georgia, its most in more than two seasons. It hadn't surrendered as many points since winning at Georgia in 2011. Two Gamecocks defensive assistants got into a shouting match on the sidelines, a tussle Spurrier says was hashed out.
