A Milledgeville artist shares more than 50 years of work with the community at a new exhibit.
The Allied Arts and Milledgeville Civic Woman's Club hosted a reception today for artist Stan Strickland at the Marlor Arts Center.
Strickland's exhibition of paintings, "Speaking Highly of the south", are on display at the center.
It's been ten years since Strickland has had an exhibit here.
Strickland has been praised by collectors about portrayals of life in the south during the mid-nineteenth century, and despite traveling a lot for his work, the artist calls Milledgeville home.
The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 4:30pm. The exhibit is free and will run through Novemeber 15th.
