Georgia's Golden Olympics are underway, which is being hosted by the Warner Robins Recreation Department.
Jeni Hixon says the Golden Olympics is designed for seniors to help keep them active.
Today, they held most of their running and walking events out on the track .
"Well I find that, you know, pushing yourself to excercise helps you age better, you are more flexible, and you are able to continue to be young inside. As your body ages, it is the old senario...you either use it, or you lose it." -- Marty Holmes, Olympic Participant
"It gets you in shape and keeps you in shape if you do it throughout the year." -- Emmett Vollenweider, Olympic Participant
And Marty Holmes, a participant in today's track events says regular exercise helps.
The Golden Olympics will continue through Saturday with events tomorrow including the 15 hundred mile race walk, shot put, hammer throw, long jump and tennis doubles. The event is for those 50 and older.
