Emmy winner Tony Hale thanking his parents and Macon during the 65th emmy ceremony Sunday night. Hale won best supporting role in a comedy for his part in HBO's "Veep".
Hale's parents Mike and Rita Hale watched from their home in Macon as their youngest son took the national spotlight.
"They announced it so quickly and Mike and I literally jump out of our chairs and bopped each other on the head and we just ran around the house like crazy people."
"Our stomachs hurt so much from laughing because he's just funny and it's not that he's trying to be, it's just one of God's gifts that he's a natural comedian." --Rita Hale, Tony Hale's Mother
This is Hale's first individual award.
He received a Screen Actors Guild Award as part of the cast of Arrested Development in 2005.
Tony won the award on his grandmother's birthday and will celebrate his 43rd birthday next week.
