MACON, Ga. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a former middle Georgia tax preparer has been sentenced to five years in prison in a health care and tax fraud scheme.

Officials say 39-year-old Jackie Elvine of Jeffersonville was sentenced Wednesday and is ordered to pay more than $372,000 in restitution.

Prosecutors say Elvine admitted that at least 61 tax returns she filed between 2008 and 2010 included fraudulent tax credits for first time homebuyers. Officials say Elvine also fraudulently claimed education tax credits.

Prosecutors say Elvine also filed false health care claims with AFLAC and funneled the refunds into her personal bank account.
