A Jeffersonville woman has entered a guilty plea on charges of health care fraud, aiding in the preparation of false tax return and false claims against the Government.

30-year-old Jackie Elvine, also known as Jackie Young, admitted that she started Young's Financial Billing Service in Twiggs County in 2008 and prepared and submitted hundreds of false tax returns until 2010. At least 61 of the returns included fraudulent tax credits for first time home buyers. The total of those claims was over $280-thousand. There were also numerous tax credits for higher education costs that Elvine knew were fake.

Elvine also defrauded AFLAC and National Reimbursement Group by filing false health care claims totaling over $265-thousand.

Sentencing is slated for April 9th. Elvine faces a maximum sentence of nearly 20 years in prison.
