The Office of the Vice President of Public Service and Outreach at the University of Georgia will be holding its annual retreat in Macon Thursday and Friday to determine strategic priorities for the year.
Macon was chosen because of its position as an economic development engine for the region.
UGA has several partnerships in Central Georgia local governments along with Mercer University.
Thursday night, Mayor Robert Reichert will host a dinner for the group at the Hay House and Friday he'll take them on a trolley tour around Macon to highlight recent successes and improvements as well as on-going projects.
The tour will include sites like the Ocmulgee Indian Mounds, The College Hill Corridor, The Dannenberg Lofts, The Historic Terminal Station, and many other landmarks.
