A Dexter woman was arrested Thursday morning after police were called to a bank robbery at the First Laurens Bank.
At 9:42 a.m. the Laurens Co. 911 Center received a call from the bank in reference to a robbery in progress.
Law enforcement from Laurens County Sheriff's Office, Georgia State Patrol, Dublin Police Department and Dodge State Prison K-9 responded to the location.
The robber allegedly was known to bank employees, who provided 911 with information about the robber.
The suspect described by the bank employees, Sherry Lynn Waldrep, 52, of Dexter, was arrested by a Laurens County Deputy and a State Trooper a short distance from the bank.
Waldrep is currently being held in the Laurens County jail, charged with armed robbery. The incident is presently being investigated by the Sheriff's Office.
